The social welfare foundation of ProLitteris supports authors and artists who are in a financially difficult situation. Its benefits include old-age pensions for long-standing members of the cooperative as well as support in emergencies. In addition, counseling by a social worker is possible.
The social welfare foundation grants an old-age pension to long-standing members of the ProLitteris cooperative who, after reaching the AHV reference age, have a low income.
The old-age pension helps to close financial gaps in an advanced stage of life and ensures that creativity retains a stable framework.
The emergency aid of the social welfare foundation is aimed at members who suddenly find themselves in financial difficulties – for example due to illness, loss of assignments or family burdens.
The support requires an application with financial information and further details. The foundation board assesses the situation confidentially with the aim of helping an author in a personal crisis situation quickly and effectively.

In this way, the foundation specifically strengthens individuals who contribute to cultural creation in Switzerland through their artistic or literary work and who have made a long-term commitment to ProLitteris.
The main purpose of ProLitteris is the collection and distribution of royalties and the granting of licenses for certain uses. As a secondary activity, the social welfare foundation offers social benefits.
The foundation is financed by a dedicated share of 9% of the Swiss income of ProLitteris.
The foundation board of the social welfare foundation is composed of experienced representatives of literary and artistic creation. These individuals know the needs of creative professions and handle the financial resources responsibly.
The social welfare foundation is subject to the supervision of the foundation supervisory authority of the Canton of Zurich.
