ProLitteris Prize 2022: The collective management organization ProLitteris honors outstanding journalism: Ekaterina Glikman and Federico Franchini

At the end of June, ProLitteris will once again award the main prize, endowed with CHF 40 000, and a sponsorship prize of CHF 10 000. The prize honors outstanding achievements in literature and art: the fields of activity of the collective management organization ProLitteris. The award ceremony will take place following the general meeting. There, ProLitteris will present stable revenue in the 2021 financial year and reduced administrative costs. The service will be expanded and offered in a new ProLitteris portal.

The recipient of the main prize, Ekaterina Glikman, was selected by an independent jury made up of figures from the field of journalism: Bettina Müller (RSI), Anja Conzett (Die Republik) and Gerhard Mack (NZZ). The Russian journalist for the independent Russian newspaper «Nowaja Gaseta». After 20 years of increasingly difficult in Moscow, she now lives in Switzerland and works as deputy editor of «Nowaja Gaseta. Europa», an online edition that was launched by part of the «Nowaja Gaseta» team ten days after the closure of the Moscow office on 28.03.2022 due to tightened censorship.
The NZZ (article by Lucien Scherrer), Blick.ch (article by Rebecca Wyss, including video contribution), the Schaffha Arbeiterzeitung (article by Nora Leutert) and Schweizer Illustrierte (article by René Haenig) have recently written about this committed journalist.

As the recipient of the main prize, it was up to Ekaterina Glikman to determine the winner of the sponsorship prize. Based on suggestions from the jury, she chose the journalist Federico Franchini, who works in Lugano. His focus is on Switzerland as a hub of international trade and on related grievances.
